Who wants to play a game?

I'd love to play.

It's a rare treat because of my ping (satellite Internet connection). That said, I can't play anything fast-paced, like an FPS or games with fast-moving targets.

Not to change the subject or anything, but since you mentioned it. I have satellite internet as well, and I have not really attempted any gaming on it due to the high ping as you said. I am curious as a fellow satellite internet user if you have found any good multiplayer games that are perfectly playable on this type of connection. I imagine Civilization is, but what else? I would love to play a few games online if it wasn't a disaster of an experience trying to play.

Very few games are perfect, but some are manageable.

I played Saints Row: The Third co-op before. It was fun and worked all right. I could attack enemies relatively easily. Sometimes, my co-op partner would teleport about, but it never got to the point of frustration. Also, for any fast-paced combat, you can bring out the explosives (this is true for most games with combat and explosives).

Dark Souls worked well, too, when I could successfully connect with someone (I don't know if it's because of satellite, my router/modem, GFWL, and/or the game itself, but it's very hard to connect with some players). The only thing I had to watch out for were invaders. Fast-paced fights with other players is a no-no. Luckily, you can Alt+F4 (it's frowned upon, but hey, you have satellite and it's like your only choice in a situation like that).

Burnout Paradise was also a good experience online. I imagine most racing games would work all right. Kart racers such as Sonic might cause some problems because of the fast-paced use of weapons against other players, but then again you usually don't have to aim, and if someone is aiming at you there's usually not many ways to dodge the attack even with a good connection.

Minecraft and Terraria work fine, except for combat.

Even some Garry's Mod gamemodes work fine. I played Prop Hunt with relatively no frustration. However, in gamemodes that require active communication, like Trouble in Terrorist Town, you might run into problems.

So, I suggest a sandbox game like GTA: EFLC (I have Xliveless and a lot of mods on vanilla GTA IV, so no online for me; also, SR:TT only supports one co-op partner) or possibly a racing game. Garry's Mod would also work.

If there are a lot of people wanting to play something fast-paced or don't have any slower-paced games, that's fine. No reason for me to keep others bored just because of my Internet connection.
