If console gaming dies will PC go with it?

#1knightimexPosted 9/28/2013 5:09:29 PM
We all know that the average $150 pc can max out every game on the market.
^ That's all good and gravy like.

But the real question is, can PC support it's own when it comes to major games?
Small time things such as indie games will still exist, but what about big guns like GTA V? Battlefield 4?
Major production games?

I don't think steam and origin's total combined install base has the ability to support gaming life as a whole without consoles.

So in reality, is console the life blood of pc gaming?

If consoles were to disappear, do you REALLY think that all those hardcore players would just give up gaming? Think for a second.

PC gaming came first, PC gaming has and will always be better.
If consoles die, it'll be because of PC superiority.

That and the damn fact consoles are just becoming dumbed down PCs with less features.

im gonna ignore the fact that this is a troll topic.

this is like saying; Honda accounts for 70% of car sales..if honda goes away, will every car manufacturer also go under?

the answer is obviously, NO.

if PC was the only choice when buying something to play games on, everyone who wants to play games would own one that is capable of that. and the small percentage that cant afford a resonable PC, probably dont buy many games either.

Jogurt attacks! Inflicts 1 point of damage on the Goblin. Goblin is defeated! Jogurt gains experience.
...it appears that Jogurt's level has increased to 1.

If there's an $150 PC that does that, I'd buy it in a heart beat... wait they do exist! You have to wait 10 years or so and then a $150 PC can run any of the games we have for this generation on an integrated graphics card.

If consoles suddenly disappeared tomorrow, I have a hard time believing that even the most die hard console-only fanboy could resist building/purchacing a gaming PC/laptop to continue their hobby.
