Tor Dev's should be suing the us government

#21ElementalWindPosted 9/30/2013 6:32:59 PM
If the case has merit, chances are the court will side with whoever argues their case best. The US government has lost plenty of cases in federal court.
There are also a lot of limitations on when the US government can be sued, so there would be some question as to whether they actually have a case.

It's really hard to show sympathy for Freedom Hosting, and I support the FBI's methods.

It's a grey area, for sure, but the fact is if you're not doing anything wrong on TOR, you have no worries.

The way I see it, this guy willingly hosted (numerous) child pornography websites. If taking down this "Freedom" host means legit sites get compromised, so be it.

So its okay to be guilty til proven innocent then.

Disgusting how many people in here are supporting this blatant breach of privacy and gross abuse of power.

No it isn't, you just have to think rationally rather than emotionally.

to a logical thinking mind, it is not alright to violate the privacy and rights of a couple million people, to maybe catch a hundred people

I'm pretty sure they have a warrant for this.

Investigating accessories, tracking down laundered money, etc.

Don't blame the FBI blame the criminals you did business with.

You haven't been proven guilty, but just because(giving you the benefit of the doubt) you are innocent, doesn't mean they don't have cause to investigate you.

Also, Chess is a game of skill much like all gameplay only video games. So it is pretty mindless if you think about it.-mtjormitch

Logically you should be offering your 'privacy' to help catch actual criminals. I'm sorry I don't think anyone has the right to 'privacy' online. Whatever you put on the internet should be available for all to see. Your home/property is the only place I'd defend your right to 'privacy'. That doesn't include your online shenanigans.

Go ahead and hate on me for oppressing your 'freedom' but I couldn't care less. Go ahead and watch me government.
