I'm playing Duke Nukem Forever for the first time, and liking it

Yes, that's right.

I would also like to mention, that I absolutely loved DN3D growing up, and played the crap out of it, naturally.

But I had no expectations coming into this, other than that it would be a campy, cheesy, 90s style Duke game that came out in the wrong decade. Hell, I even told myself ahead of time that it wasn't going to be as good as DN3D, that it was going to be a different beast, in some ways.

Still like this game.

Cherry on the cake? I have the Balls Of Steel Edition, and don't regret the purchase.

Alright, gaming community, feel free to charge your PP meters (Peer Pressure) and rip me a new one, I'm ready.

PM me if you need details on my whereabouts if you feel the need to set up an intervention.

It's a decent game in the end, just lacks secret paths, uses annoying autosaves and is too linear and scripted. Surely playable though.

Yeah, I kind of agree with Rhyten. I played through a pretty decent amount of the game and I didn't hate it. But I didn't love it either. The only reason I got it was because my video card came with a free code for it. It's definitely entertaining, but it could have been so much better than it was.

I liked it as well to be honest. The PC version is the because it got the most patches of all the versions.

You had no expectations that's the problem, whereas most people did.

Or I just liked the game. Oh my God someone isn't part of the Hivemind!

The only really good thing about Duke Nukem Forever was its humor.

Nothing wrong with liking bad games, doesn't change that it's terrible.

Considering the game was in development for 15 years (1996-2011), the game sucked.

Yeah I got the collectors edition, and although it wasn't great I did get some enjoyment out of the game. The DLC story was really good though, definitely worth a try if it goes on sale.
