Because the article is over a year old and Rift has been free for 3 months. --- Once we perfect building Mechs, I expect there to be a factory in Mexico pumping out a brand call Mechsican. I wanna buy me a Mechsican. steamid: Rohchya
Age of Wushu has been the most memorable mmo I've played recently. I quit a few months ago because it started feeling very pay2win. Then the community denies it's pay2win. You try to explain that paying money for power = pay2win... through some delusional magic they fail to see it. blah blah blah yada yada etc and so on. Fanbois amirite?
Anyway... if you can look past that... it's a neat game. More about developing your character than collect 50 bear butts. I really like the open world pvpness of it and I hate pvp servers on other mmos. This is the first game where it added to the game in a meaningful way. Probably because it's built around it instead of haphazardly tacked on.
I can't say if it's worth playing now though. I played at beta through 2 months after launch. They don't block other countries from playing the NA version of the game. Even countries like oh I dunno.... flippin China that already has their own version (a year older than the NA one) and they already know all the ins and outs of the game. So they swarm to the NA servers and dominate. It feels incredible lame and unfair to be honest. Also, maybe less than half the playerbase speaks english.
The game is terribly localized and poorly managed. Frequent account hacking (I'm 100% certain Snail sells account info) and most the game mechanics go unexplained. I spent a lot of time reading wikis and forums just to learn enough to stay competitive and a number of things were still unknown when I left.
What, Atlantica supports up to 8 mercs... Did they only play 10 minutes of the game? --- He who stumbles around in darkness with a stick is blind. But he who... sticks out in darkness... is... fluorescent! - Brother Silence
