What's the scariest game you've ever played?

That wasn't scary^ It was frustrating because I didn't know there was an end. Me and my cousins just had no idea what the objective was half the time XD Screw that game.

Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams or the first Fatal Frame

The original Silent Hill, when I first played it back in 1999.

Not sure how well it would hold up today though.

Probably Silent Hill 2 when I first played it. Recently, and I wouldn't exactly call it scary, more tense than anything, would be Outlast. I haven't played the new Amnesia but I heard it's even more boring than the first, and the Penumbra games so...

It has to be the first time I played RE3 Nemesis. I was younger back then but the fights with the Nemesis the first time through the game were nerve wracking, they bulit the tension brilliantly.

Not scary these days but I've grown up and true video game scares are hard to come by.

First time I played it and Nemesis bursts through that window in the police station - never **** myself so much at a game before or since. Jump scares are cheap, but ever so effective in that instance.

Special mention to System Shock 2 - perhaps not best known for its scariness. I remember it being scary as hell when I played it when it first came out. Started playing it again recently, worrying that the dated graphics would take the edge off it. Surprisingly, the blocky and deformed models actually add to the experience some how, giving it a nightmarish quality.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent. But I seen too many playthroughs of it on YouTube before playing it myself.

Some of the dark rainy nights in Euro Truck Simulator 2 can get pretty spooky. I keep expecting to look at my passenger seat and see a ghost.

Or when you are driving along and all the sudden you see a car that was trying to pass a semi and got caught in your lane with no time to brake.

...I've had plenty of wrecks because of that :( Stupid AI cars.
