Consoles catching up with pc?

I think it's more that it takes much much more technical power for a much much smaller level of graphical detail.

Look at the difference between the Atari 2600 to Nintendo Entertainment system. Now look at NES to SNES. Now look at SNES to N64. N64 to Gamecube. Gamecube to Xbox.

If it were on a graph, you'd see the graphical differences starting to plateau. We can only get to real life visuals. The closer we get to that, the harder it gets to improve.

In time, graphics will become NA. We'll have the hardware capable of real life graphics at resolutions, colors, and framerates beyond our visual perception.

No. X360 was far closer to a high end PC in 2005 than PS4 or Xbone are now.

They'll catch up with the new consoles...only to fall behind again like they always do.

I was going to get the new consoles but if games are coming at 720p i am not going to. I was assuming all games would be 1080p and either 30 or 60 fps but nope.

Xbox one and ps4 will have very limited game variety for a few years, where as I can play the whole pc backlog of games and play ps2,wii and gamecube games i have missed out on in very good quality. Is there really any comparison or competition? Nope

I have a 23" screen and I barely got 1080P on my games. It just makes too small for me. If you have 27+ inch screen then go for the bigger resolutions. It will look better but for right now I think 1080P is plenty nice.
