Need to upgrade my GTX 570, should I go for 670 or 760?

Spend $300 and get a 7970.

This would be a solid choice.

The R9 290X is rumored to be released on October 15th and bundled with BF4. It will definitely be more than $350, though. I don't know when the rest of the cards will be released, or if BF4 will be bundled with them.

If you're willing to wait, you might get more bang for your buck, but the 7970 is good.

He is right though. BF4 is optimized for AMD cards.

Just like BF3, right? LOL. The game runs better on Nvidia hardware from all gens for the price, regardless of the AMD label. Nvidia already had NVAPI running for it and it's been years.

AMD is going a little further with Mantle, but they're late to the party.

There's barely a correlation between the sponsorship of a title and its actual performance bias. It's marketing.

If you're alright buying a Zotac here's a 4gb 670 for $300 straight up, no rebates or shipping. If not, then there's more reputable brands from $305 and up. Don't get a 4gb 760/670 (aside from that Zotac one, no idea why it's so cheap so I'm wary of it myself but it's cheaper than any of the 2gb ones), it's a waste, especially if you're playing at 1080.

E: would help if I included the link

do you guys think the size of the card matters?

I have a mid tower and I feel that this:

would barley fit.

However, there is a small version of that:

do you think it would preform the same way?

Just measure it.

A 7970 is more powerful and cheaper, though.

I haven't been following BF4 or anything, but what is this "Mantle"?
