He is right though. BF4 is optimized for AMD cards.


Just like BF3, right? LOL. The game runs better on Nvidia hardware from all gens for the price, regardless of the AMD label. Nvidia already had NVAPI running for it and it's been years.

AMD is going a little further with Mantle, but they're late to the party.

There's barely a correlation between the sponsorship of a title and its actual performance bias. It's marketing.


I haven't been following BF4 or anything, but what is this "Mantle"?


AMD's low-level API.
The way they're marketing it is as a console-level API taken from the PS4 development environment, and adapted to PC, essentially replacing DirectX.
However, some other things suggest that it's just an AMD alternative to NVAPI, which is essentially just an extra API that exposes a set of low-level driver functions for nVidia cards when used alongside DirectX.

EVGA's 760 is hitting the same performance as Titan with OC and it has improved cooling. Its a bit more expensive though about in between the two.
