It's a bit poorly worded, but it makes perfect sense.

That still doesn't tell me how many of "What" at all. How many game consoles or platforms? Maybe I'm making it more complicated than it is.

How many days out of the last 30 did you play a game on.

Learn English.

In English, you don't end a sentence with a preposition.

Funnily enough, people do. All the time. Talking in other manners feels incredibly awkward/excessively long.

Just because there are rules doesn't mean that people follow them. Sort of sad, but it is what it is.

"It's the internet" is never a valid excuse for s*** writing skills.

Especially when the primary form of communication on the Internet is text, with reaction images a close second.

I would have moved the "on" at the end of the sentence to before the "how".

So apparently pronouns are complicated now?

*sigh*

"Over the last 30 days, how many of them did you play at least one video game on?"

In the last month, how many days did you play at least one video game?

I shake my head at your reading comprehension.

That would work if he'd led with "Of the past 30 days..." As I explained before, grammatically, "Over the last 30 days" does nothing but specify a timeframe for the question to follow. Following grammar rules, "them" is an unattributed pronoun. The potential for confusion boils down to the fact he started with the wrong preposition, but that wasn't his only grammatical error.

EDIT: And even leading with "of," it still wouldn't have quite worked. "Them" is superfluous. To use "them," it would need to be something like "Think about the past 30 days. How many of them did you play at least one game?"

"Of the past 30 days, how many did you play at least one game?"

Lots of ways to write it much more clearly, rather than something a 7th grade English teacher would have a field day with.

the question is "in the last 30 days, how many of them did you play games on?"

Still improper grammar, and still sounds awkward.

"How many of the last 30 days did you play at least one game?"
