Need a new mouse.

I currently have a Razer Lachesis and I need to get a new one since this one is finally starting to be at the end of its life. It has given me years of usage and i need to retire it. Does anyone have any recommendations on a new mouse, I do not want to get another Razer because of the online software. I have a friend who has it and i find it annoying to use because it bugs him about little things. I would be willing to get on if it is the best recommended mouse. Which mouse do you all recommend? I also do use the buttons on the mouse for Guild Wars 2 and that game is what i play mostly right now.

I love the shape of the Sensei.

I have a Zowie FK. Also kind of a basic shape that works well for a lot of people, though this time with an optical sensor.

G400(s) is also a common recommendation on this board. Due to the price, many people liking the shape, and the fact that it has one of the top sensors available on the market. I am sure someone will be so kind to provide you with a list of mice that have sensors that work without any known issues.

The general consensus is that it is pretty terrible.

-Very heavy and weight is awkwardly distributed.
-Sensor is not centered.
-Horrible wobbly scroll wheel that they took from consumer mice like the MX revolution, not suitable for a gaming mouse.
-Avago ADNS 9500 sensor which is decent, but suffers from some slight hardware acceleration.
-Gimmicky "add more weight to this already heavier than average mouse" feature.

All in all, I just do not see a reason to opt for the G500 whe the G400s is available. It is better in every way

the logitech g700 is soooo comfortable and natural to use and it can be used wired or wireless. though the batteries don't last long in wireless mode so i leave it plugged in. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My Razer Deathadder didn't need any software, and it works like a dream.

FYI, software discs that come packaged with hardware are generally only good for coasters.

But the cord is very stiff, the sensor is inferior to the mice listed in this topic and there are some common issues like this 14-page complaint on the logitech website.
http://forums.logitech.com/t5/G-series-Gaming-Mice/G700-and-small-mouse-movements/td-p/482089/page/14

Why go for a wireless mouse, which severely restricts your choice of mouse, and then leave it plugged in. Not only that, but the cord has this huge huge stiff connector, and is much more annoying than the cord on most (gaming) mice, which completely defeats the purpose of a wireless mouse. Does not make any sense to me. Though in a normal gaming setup, the whole idea of a wireless mouse barely makes any sense to me.

It may be comfortable for some people, and there may be some reasons why people have to go for a wireless mouse because of the way they use the PC. But for me personally, I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole.
