I can't seem to be able to do so if I want an i7 and 16Gb of RAM...

Got any recommendations?
I want it to last at least 5 years.

Did you pick the parts yourself?

I usually have problems with Radeon cards, so I prefer Nvidia, but with both next gen consoles running with AMD cards, it's a safe bet developers will optimize for Radeon cards better.

This is my build minus the video card. Intel HD 4600 will hold you over until you save up for a card. I eventually bought a 7970.

The total build is under 1600 and it runs great. The ram can be cheaper if you ship around for a deal, when I bought this the ram was 49.99 each bringing the price under 1200. I also bought it without a wireless card or disk drive. installing from USB is easy enough.
Oh, you thought they made this game for you? You clearly bought the wrong game.
