Trying to build a good gaming PC for around 1200$, but...

I can't seem to be able to do so if I want an i7 and 16Gb of RAM...

Got any recommendations?
I want it to last at least 5 years.

No OS or optical drive, though.

Nice!
Did you pick the parts yourself?

I usually have problems with Radeon cards, so I prefer Nvidia, but with both next gen consoles running with AMD cards, it's a safe bet developers will optimize for Radeon cards better.

So, just to be clear, nobody is including the price of an OS in their builds any more?

Includes OS

This is my build minus the video card. Intel HD 4600 will hold you over until you save up for a card. I eventually bought a 7970.

The total build is under 1600 and it runs great. The ram can be cheaper if you ship around for a deal, when I bought this the ram was 49.99 each bringing the price under 1200. I also bought it without a wireless card or disk drive. installing from USB is easy enough.

Oh, you thought they made this game for you? You clearly bought the wrong game.
