Game compatibility can be a headache on 8 sometimes.

The installer for GFWL that comes with some games is incompatible with Windows 8. You have to download a newer version from the website, without anything telling you to.

The Walking Dead and some other games have 360 controller incompatibility on 8.

Bethesda games are giving me and some other issues where for some reason it keeps going to windowed when set to fullscreen.

You can edit GFAQs posts now.

As for the original question, W8 is fine, just get classic shell.

A lot of older games don't work well in Win8, even in compatibility mode. At least they didn't when I tried them. That's why I dual boot.

I hate Windows 8 period so I have nothing positive to say about its gaming performance.

All I hear is "I am unable to adapt to change! I hate things that are unfamiliar to me!".

It takes longer to do things.

Not really. You just didn't take the time to learn how to use it more efficiently.

Windows 8 + StartIsBack (or any other program that gets rid of the Metro and brings back the start menu) = win

That's not win. The metro interface is irrefutably better than the start menu of old. Honestly don't see how people can try and argue this point.

ADD, no. Where is the thread for Fallout OCD players?
"We have to keep it on page 3 or it freaks out."
