3GB 780 > any 770.

I would honestly wait to see the reviews/final prices for all the new AMD cards. There is a good chance the R 290X can outperform the 780 GTX. If it's at a cheaper price point; then that is the far better choice.

To be honest, SLI in general is overkill if you're only using 1 monitor.

I remember when I didn't know anything about computers.

can't decide which one to SLI ._.

I would just like to say that I love my 780's. Running @ 5960x1080 w/ 3x 24" Asus VS247H-P.

If you can afford the 780's then definitely go for it, you can never have "too much" horsepower.

Well, at 1440p or 1600p it's almost double the number of pixels, so it's a lot like two 1080p monitors in terms of the work the card has to do. If you're using one 1080p monitor it is pretty overkill although I can still see two 760s ($480) being really good performance for the money.

I didn't even know normal people use that kind of resolution haha

Normal people? They're on cellphones and tablets posting what color shoes they just bought on Facebook.

780, but if you're SLIing them, make sure to invest in a 1440p or 1600p monitor or you're just sitting there with wasted horsepower

going for double Qnix monitor 1440p

You mean a 4GB 770 or a 3GB 780 (rather than 4GB on both)? It'd be a rather odd question to ask, otherwise. The extra VRAM on the 770 would only come in handy with higher resolutions, and you'll get more out of the 780's extra power, anyway.

and i couldn't find anyother versions of 780 other than rumored 5gb one

If you really HAVE to SLI... might as well go big or go home... go with the 780.

There are still a few games that would require SLi if you want to get the best performance out of it. I'm still trying to figure out how to get decent framerate on GTA4 modded. I can't seem to keep it above 50fps with SLi 670s at 1440p.

Then go 780. the 3 GB is plenty, and unless you were trying to do 4k Resolution, would still be plenty. 770 isn't worth it. 780 will max, including all eye candy, at 1440 in SLI in almost all games.
