New AMD Desktop CPU

#1BeefCastlePosted 10/3/2013 7:08:33 PM
I've been looking around trying to find out when the new steamroller CPU's will come out so I can upgrade my CPU (from fx 6350) with the new r9 GPU's. Maybe i'm just bad at computer, but I can't seem to find anything that seems concrete on a release for the 3rd gen bulldozers. Anyone got any inside info?

They don't make bulldozers anymore.

Also, if you're dropping 600+ on your GPU, I can't see why you would purposefully handicap yourself with an AMD CPU.

Not buying it now, gonna wait til price drop. By the time the new CPU comes out it will be cheaper. Also the CPU will be the same socket hopefully, so I can upgrade without changing mobo.

I think AMD are making some more announcements this month but I might be confusing it with the release of their new GPUs

I hope they have something magical up their sleeve coming up next because their latest nuclear core meltdown processors at ludicrous prices were disappointing to say the least.

Yup.

I feel like a majority people think that Intel users want AMD to fail, but it's quite the contrary. If AMD actually began to take over the desktop market, it would set a fire under Intel's ass, and we wouldn't have to settle for a 5% performance increase per generation. I can't even see myself upgrading my processor for another two or three generations.
