When it comes to Video Card Manufacturers, who do you prefer?

i'm fine with all of those brands since they seem to get recommended the most except for xfx, powercolor, pny and vision tek

EVGA. Only due to their customer support. They are relatively fast and polite and the few times I've had friends or family need them, they came through without any drama.

I'm sure other companies are nearly as good in most cases and I'm not against their cards, just happen to buy EVGA most of the time due to availability locally.

EVGA and not because I work for them but because their cards look better than most and their warranty is better

MSI and EVGA are the two I look at first.

Clearly EVGA is the winner here. Forgive my ignorance but they soley focus on the Geforce chip set, correct?

huh guess i know even less about computers than i thought, i thought video cards and gpus were the same thing. this is why i bought a prebuilt. feel free to laugh at me now.

...

Well, they're not entirely the same thing...

No I ment the part where he bought a prebuild when he could just done a quick google search.

i bought a prebuilt because i'm pretty much computer illiterate and don't care enough about them to learn more and didn't want to waste close to a grand on something i wasn't sure i'd be able to make work.

not including my GPU, which I wanted but didn't need, my rig costs $500 to make

I've been using an MSI 4870 for like three years straight, 20-60 hours of gaming a week and it's STILL going strong. The fan started to buzz sometimes so I keep the case flat now instead of standing it up.
