Do you buy physical for PC anymore?

#31MarceloSampaioPosted 10/4/2013 5:22:33 AM
Nowdays?!? Nah. I don't even have a disc drive on my PC anymore.

But I used to buy them before Steam came to Brazil officially (in late 2012, I believe), so I actually got some not-so-old PC games in physical copies (I think Bioshock 2 was the last game I've bought a physical copy, I believe).

I also have a HUGE collection of old games in CD, like 7th Guest, Witchaven, Wing Commander 3, Phantasmagoria (7 discs!), Corridor 7, Crusader: No Regret, etc. I also have some floppies, like the Commander Keen games and D/Generation.

Last physical copy of a game I bought was ME3. Only because I didn't want origin taking a larger chunk. Before that, was witcher 1 because I saw it on the front shelf at a gamestop and that was incredibly rare to see, as it was a pc game.

I've bought hundreds of games in between those.

I still do. I ordered a physical copy of Activision Anthology: Remix Edition 5 days ago. But I mostly get PC games digitally.

I love cases and especially boxes, so I get a lot of collector's editions of things. I like having a physical copy.. it just makes it feel more like I really own the game. Also eliminates the need to re download games after uninstalling them or wiping my hard drive - because my internet is stone age slow. 10g+ games at 150kb/s takes a painfully long time.

I'd rather have a physical disk.

I dont like spending hours downloading a 10 GB game.

I dont like having to use steam, I dont like steam's file structure, and I dont like the fact steam makes my games take 10 times longer to load.

The only good thing about steam is discounts, and cloud saves, other than that its garbage.

If you are just buying a DD from some place for convenience fine, but I dont see the need to install something that amounts to spyware/add-ware on my computer just to buy and use a game.
