I kind of dread the file size of next gen games for pc.

For consoles, bluray will be the media of choice.
Because of this, some developers are already taking full advantage of the space available.

Said media will cause pc games to be about anywhere from 10-30gigs+ packed for download.
*cringe*

And then in a few years time, those games for pc will find their way on Steam's season sales.

Find 6 awesome games? EPIC!
Time to prepare your PC's anus for dat 300gb of space required.

*shudders*

Can it actually happen?
Please prove me wrong.

I'm not sure I understand what is the problem. Do you have peasant Internet and HDD space or something?

Of course file sizes will grow.

That said, internet speeds will rise, and storage space will grow, too.

Not really. The blu ray drive on the PS4 is going to be 6x (27MB/s read speed). Games will still preferably require an install to the hard drive. The PS4's getting shipped with 500GB. You can install more if you want but it's 500GB stock. Developers would probably want to play it safe and not go overboard.

Hopefully this picks up speed and also gives some other ISPs in the US a slap in the face.

My internet is fine.

He might've switched to an all-SSD setup.

That said, prices on those do seem to be falling, with the 1 TB Evo under $600 when on sale.

I'd LOVE if google fiber came to Texas, 10+ MB a second? It'd take like 20 minutes to download to Arkham City . . . .
