Steam OS and EA

#1CouriousLanayaPosted 10/4/2013 5:12:44 AM
You think EA will make games that will be natively developed for Steam OS, or is there too much bad blood because of Origin?

If gamers shift to linux they'll have to follow suit.

We're a long way from that happening unless compatibility can be guaranteed.

Steam OS needs EA Sports if they want to challenge MS / Sony in the living room.

It's just Linux. It's not like they need to actually partner up just to make games compatible with Linux.

I mean partner up with valve in general, valve has been killing it recently and EA might change their tune in regards to Valve

^Doubt it... Its now a matter of 'integrity' to them. I seriously doubt they will change their tune. 100% profits versus 70% makes it an easy decision for them.

They're not even putting their games on Steam, why would they change now? They'll continue to make their games on PC require Origin. If they start making games for Steam OS, they may as well make their games available for Steam at the same time.

EA are convinced that people actually like Origin due to the fact it has a lot of users.

They completely dismiss the fact that people who own Origin have very few games for it (usually only EA games that aren't on Steam) and that in any opinion poll regarding PC Digital Distribution Origin will probably only beat out Uplay (which isn't exactly a tough thing to beat.)
