It's just Linux. It's not like they need to actually partner up just to make games compatible with Linux.

If gamers shift to linux they'll have to follow suit.
They're not even putting their games on Steam, why would they change now? They'll continue to make their games on PC require Origin. EA are convinced that people actually like Origin due to the fact it has a lot of users.
