Can't uninstall nvidia drivers from control panel

#1ElJeffayPosted 10/4/2013 11:37:46 AM
If I recall, I have always been able to uninstall the drivers from control panel> uninstall programs. Now I can't do this. Any way how to do this?

It would help if you were more descriptive. "It doesn't work" tells us nothing. Does Nvidia not show up in the programs list? Does it give an error message when you uninstall?

yeah sorry about the brief description. The nvidia drivers show up. When I right click to go to uninstall, nothing happens. Not even in safe mode.

Try using GeForce Experience, it lets you perform a clean install.

CATS. That's about it honestly...

the thing is, I need to take off the drivers. I don't want to put a new one on yet. I don't think geforce experience can do an uninstall.

I think I'd just boot into safe mode, use Driver Sweeper to remove all traces of the video card drivers and Ccleaner to remove the uninstall entry (since normal uninstall doesn't work)... and then maybe do a registry clean with Ccleaner as well to make absolutely sure...

Alternately: try installing the drivers again (see if it does a "repair") and then see if that fixes the issue with being able to uninstall normally...

Revo Uninstaller. Then Driver Fusion.
