Did EA fix that garbage of a broken game known as SimCity yet?

I remember purchasing this game called SimCity which had terrible servers and the smallest possible land to build a city on... I know they fixed the servers but does anyone know if they allowed bigger cities yet? I remember you always run out of space to build so fast...

Sorry for posting it here, I was not able to find this game on gamefaqs board

if you look up... there is a search bar next to the gamefaqs logo... I took the liberty of punching in 'simcity' for you

We might get an offline mode, but they're still saying no bigger cities apparently.

Earlier today I actually read somewhere on the net that they can't make the land any bigger than it already is. Can't find the source though, sorry.

Oh, how their tune has changed from their being so *adamant* that online mode was absolutely necessary to the core gameplay.

While the server connectivity issues are behind us, we would like to give our players the ability to play even if they choose not to connect. An offline mode would have the additional benefit of providing room to the modding community to experiment without interfering or breaking the multiplayer experience.

Seriously? We were telling you that BEFORE you released the game and told us to basically f*** ourselves. Suddenly you're telling us what we already told you? Well f*** you too, EA/Maxis.

As for bigger cities...

“After months of testing, I confirm that we will not be providing bigger city sizes. The system performance challenges we encountered would mean that the vast majority of our players wouldn’t be able to load, much less play with bigger cities. We’ve tried a number of different approaches to bring performance into an acceptable range, but we just couldn’t achieve it within the confines of the engine."

Fix? They actually just confirmed today that the game is officially dead by saying larger maps will never happen.

I'm glad they finally came out and said it, now I can at least stop paying attention to it.

So, they can't increase the city size, but hackers can.

That's awesome.

They need to take a page from the book the devs for the X3 and X-Rebirth games and design a game that can look and run as good as it can, then wait for the hardware to catch up.
