So, does the NVIDIA 331.40 Beta drivers fix everyone's problems?

I'm one of the people who has random freezes, BSODs or lockups with any driver past 314.22. Which for some reason, only occur when I'm not in game. (While using Firefox mainly.) Do these new Beta drivers fix this?

I've only heard that since 314, so I haven't upgraded. Maybe when people stop talking about their problems with the "better drivers from Nvidia", maybe then I'll upgrade.

Well I haven't had a single issue. Not sure what the issues are with some people. Maybe overclocking? Bad hardware? Certain series?

I'm on my pc nearly all the time and have updated to every beta as they released. So while some people are having issues, I can say with a fair amount of certainty that the majority are not.

I have heard that the latest WHQL drivers are more stable for those with issues though.

for anybody having driver crashes when using newer nvidia drivers (after 314.22) and firefox.

Firstly go to the Nvidia contol panel and go to manage 3D settings , change the power management to Prefer maximum performance , leaving it on adaptive is known to cause this problem.

second Disable Hardware Acceleration (GPU Rendering) in Mozilla Firefox

1. Open Mozilla Firefox, click on the orange Firefox button and select "Options".
2. Go to "Advanced" tab and disable "Use hardware acceleration when available" option.
3. Click on OK button and restart the browser.

Sorry but your hardware is defective or you have a bad overclock if you're getting BSODs.

The recent whql is stable so just use that.

I've been using pretty much every driver version since 314.14.(the last one that 100% worked for prior software; 314.22 introduced the Just Cause 2 decal bug.)

I've had the following problems:
Just Cause 2 Decal bug(still prevalent)
Borderlands 2 crash(played for a couple hours on r327 and didn't crash, but I haven't really been playing much. may have been fixed)
Bad Company 2 AntiAliasing bug(still prevalent)

I've had no problems with TDR errors(after underclocking by 13mhz; blame card vendors for this, not drivers.) bluescreens(outside of overclocking other components) or any other mentioned instability people have experienced.

I've also had problems with forcing HBAO+ on some games, where it will stop displaying under some circumstances, such as looking in a particular direction, but that's to be expected.

Oh ****, I've been having this exact problem for ages and never worked it out. Had to switch to Chrome for months. If this fixes it, you're a badass and I thank you for this topic.
