So, does the NVIDIA 331.40 Beta drivers fix everyone's problems?

I'm one of the people who has random freezes, BSODs or lockups with any driver past 314.22. Which for some reason, only occur when I'm not in game. (While using Firefox mainly.) Do these new Beta drivers fix this?

Oh ****, I've been having this exact problem for ages and never worked it out. Had to switch to Chrome for months. If this fixes it, you're a badass and I thank you for this topic.

i use chrome and had the problem too until i switched to 314.22. so its not just Firefox.

I fixed the freezing issue I had with my 560ti and drivers past 314.22. What I did was uninstall the drivers by using DDU then restart and install 327.23 ( graphics and physx only). Its been almost a week and my PC hasn't crashed or froze.

I've been hearing a lot of bellyaching about the nvidia drivers, but I haven't had any of the issues people are complaining about. I've just been sticking with the latest official drivers. I'll let someone else be a guinea pig for the beta drivers.

its because the lockup/BSOD issue for the >314.22 drivers only affect Fermi cards. Not to mention the Official 331.40 Feedback post on Nvidia is littered with lockups, freezes, and BSODs from people.

400/500/600 series only. Which is why your 770 is in the clear. I'm using a 560. I thought I was in the clear with the 331.40 drivers, but after installing them today, I got my first lockup tonight. I've already disabled GPU acceleration in Chrome, and 331.40 was installed with a fresh DDU/safe mode installation.

Looks like its back to 314.22...

Been getting lockups and freezes with the 331.40 drivers as well. Gonna try the 327.23 again. Only had that for a few days before but seemed to work ok. If that ends up freezing on me I'm just going back to the 314.22.

I think if you are having issues, you should be listing your os and gpu type. There has to be some sort of rhyme or reason for the issues. I haven't had a crash in years and always update. Its odd that people are having such issues. Perhaps the drivers are pushing areas that are damaged or just weaker in general on your gpu's? Maybe the lack of anti-static devices while installing has affected a lot of people in a minor fashion.

It happens on both vendors quite a bit where one set of drivers seems to be the only stable version for quite some time while others have no issues with the newer releases.

Is the problem that some of us don't uninstall the old drivers completely? Using a fancy program. Maybe there are some leftover bugs in the drivers.

I did not really have any problems. I am just disappointed it has not helped me to play the BF4 beta. It simply wont run for some people. Unfortunately I am one of them.
