The Single Player Experience!!

#1cjburn851Posted 10/4/2013 7:25:18 PM
We've all experienced that time when a game came along that just sucked us in, and found
ourselves up all hours til the sun rose the next day. Those times are definitely the most memorable for me.
I'd like to think I've experienced the best of them, but I know there are heaps more titles that
I haven't even heard about.

Counting just single player games (No mutliplayer/online, as we know you can play them til
the second comin of Christ), which games have you sunk the most time into?

This is counting the time spent on one game save file. Not combining files, characters, ect, on
one game. I know RPG's will be the biggest contender.

For me it'd have to be -

TES: Oblivion = 120+ hrs
TES: Skyrim = 100+ hrs
Pokemon Red = 100+ hrs
Pokemon Gold = 150+ hrs
Just Cause 2 = 90+ hrs

That's the only ones I know for sure off the top of my head, but I know there are others.

I do have Morrowind that I definitely want to get into. If there's any recommendations, I'd
definitely want to give them a shot.

Titan Quest doesn't have a timer, but it took me about 6 months to get my Templar to 75 and outfitted well...I'm guessing 400 hours? Not sure...could be more.

Dark Souls recently soaked up nearly 300 hours of my time. I played mostly single player as well since the multiplayer in that game is done really really poorly.

1000+ hours in Borderlands
354 hours in Dragon Age Origins
500ish hours between Mass Effect 1 and 2
500ish in Morrowind
600ish in Titan Quest
250ish in Torchlight 2

Then there's Diablo 2, which I don't think I could measure in hours. I spent far too much of my life in that game solo.

Nice. I actually own a majority of these titles, though yet to play, as they sit collecting dust (literally, as I own all retail versions) on my shelves.
Unfortunately for me, I can't play any of them til I buy a new GPU, as my current one has died on
me.
The older titles maybe, but I'd prefer to just get a new GPU before I bother installing my games
again. Also had to do a fresh install which means I lost everything. My mods, saves, configurations, ect. I was so ticked off. I spent literally days installing, updating, then searching
the internet for mods, fixes, and such.

I know, I know, I should have backed everything up, but it happened so suddenly. That's when
my GPU started acting up, and I thought it may of been a virus. Couldn't even access the desktop.

I've put 174 hours into Persona 4 Golden in the last three weeks or so. I can't say what's so addicting about that game but it really is an amazing experience. Even factoring in the cost of the vita (since it's the only Vita game I've really played) it was worth the price as far as entertainment per dollar goes.

Resident Evil 4 I did 15-20 playthroughs on normal, and that many again on professional, plus the time I spent in mercenaries unlocking the hand cannon. Then I got the HD version on 360 and beat it 3 more times, once on normal and twice on professional.

Tales of symphonia I've beaten 4 times I think, really looking forward to the HD version of it since it has extra content from the Japanese PS2 version.
