I need a lightweight and portable laptop

Welp, my netbook crapped the bed after 3 years and now I need a small lightweight lappy for the road in hotel rooms or on the Greyhound bus. I travel a lot because of work, all over northern Ontario, and I need something for basic internetting, watching random shows or movies and emulation which would be Mame, Snes9x and maybe PS1 at the very best. A full size powerful model is out of the question for me, and if I want power, I'll just get a desktop.

I was thinking of this:

or maybe this:

The CPU is much weaker than I'd like, that's my only concern. I don't want a tablet, otherwise I'd get an iPad mini, and Chromebooks are junk, so they're out.

I was also wondering how hard it would be to install 7 onto either one. The sales rep said it might be difficult if the bios prevents it or the hardware isn't even supported by 7. I've had the misfortune of using 8 and it was, I'll be nice and not say anything. I suppose for touch screens it's great, but for a laptop or desktop, not so much.

I know you said no chromebook but... Given your needs... Have you thought about acer chromebook with Ubuntu installed over chrome OS? It would be cheap and the Acer model is much more notebook than chromebook in its specs and the Ubuntu install is said to be very easy in this model. Just a suggestion for you to save some cash since you apparently don't need a powerhouse anyways.

I need something that I can use Itunes with as well, so I can add songs to my Shuffle, I don't think there's an Ubuntu equivalent to Itunes. I also play emulators using my wireless 360 controller, again, I don't think there's drivers, at least reliable ones for that on Ubuntu.
