Unless you're a "no steam no buy" schmuck then GOG is better.

I'm lazy and I don't want to make a new account. But why is it better wouldn't the game be the same no matter where you buy it from?

It has no DRM.

Neither does the Steam one

Not very good DRM considering I can launch and play the game without even having Steam installed.

Steam=/=DRM
Steamworks=DRM (if it's used as such)
Steam=/=Steamworks
Deus Ex=/=Steamworks

Not sure who started this ignorant rumor but I see it a lot here. Just because a game is on Steam doesn't mean it has DRM, and the majority of them don't. I'm assuming it was a dumb dumb peasant somewhere going derp u gots teh drm while being a typical ignorant peasant.

Invisible War isn't bad as such, but its a major disappointment after the first game. As a stand-alone game, its pretty good, as a sequel to Deus Ex, its terrible.

Steam is just a store client. The DRM is on a game by game basis, and is up to the publishers.

Yes, but you need Steam for the initial install setup. With the GOG version, you can throw the install file on a flash drive and upload it to any PC with just that file, no login required. In fact you never have to login to GOG again if you don't want to.

He looked in stores, both high and low.
He looked in dust bins, to and fro.
He looked right here, he looked right there.
But found no Deus Ex anywhere.
