Why is youtube such a piece of crap?

It isn't bad, people are just stupid. There's plenty of decent video sites, but everyone flocks to Youtube because change is hard. Youtube is overloaded.

Apparently you've never heard the old saying "content is king" - people go where the content is, and Youtube happens to be the largest streaming video host out there with the most content.

The best player of all is PornHub's, not even gonna lie. Great keyboard support, fluid design, responsive if the video isn't over 30 minutes, which is rare, at least for me, and even then I skip to the best part with the mouse, no sense in holding down an arrow key for ages.

Ah PH, you do more than tickle my pickle.

To anyone having all these problems - have you tried changing to opendns? If not, it's worth a try. I used to have buffering problems with Youtube and even Amazon streams freezing up years ago. Come to find out it was due to AT&T's crappy DNS servers, I'm sure other providers are just as bad.

I don't even see many videos offered at 240p anymore. That's how I know I've stumbled into the old side of youtube. 360p is the lowest resolution that I regularly see. That's fine if I'm not going to go sucks if there's a bigger than default size player though.
