what are some games 5+ years old that are still active online and fun to play?

I currently play just warcraft 3 and diablo 2 online, and I'm looking to get more games that I can play online and still have a community where search times are decent. Warcraft 3 is 10 years old and I can still find games in 10 seconds in 4v4.

I'd prefer if the games were 5+ years old because I got a 10gb monthly usage limit and can't be downloading patches every couple weeks, unless they are really small. For example, I want to reinstall starcraft 2, but I just can't because of how much patches there are.

I'll play anything, from a RTS (prefer if it has hero units like wc3 does), shooters, rpg's, anything really.

I currently have warcraft 3, titan quest gold, torchlight 1, halo pc combat evolved, saints row 3, unreal tournament 3, and diablo 2 are the games I pretty much play now.

Any recommendations? I'd also prefer if they were cheaper, like around ten bucks, but they likely are if they are a couple years old.

Diablo 3. Don't listen to all the hate, it's a great game. If you buy the retail disc version, then there will only be a few small patches to download.

I know, but TC mentioned StarCraft 2, which is also pretty recent. I think TC probably has a decent PC, but the 10gb per month bandwidth limit is holding him back playing recent games.

Battlefront 2 is on Steam and surprisingly still has a nice community going for it.

Are the patches for recent games really that much more data than the data generated by actually playing the game (having to download what's happening and what the other players are doing and such)?

LMAO no. The retail disc version is BS. You still have to download the full game. I used my disc copy a few times and every time I had to actually download the full thing. I have no idea what the purpose of the disc really is for. Also the game sucks.
