xfired 7970 bottleneck a fx6350

#1BeefCastlePosted 10/8/2013 12:38:56 PM
Would xfired 7970's bottleneck my overclocked fx6350 @ 4.4 ghz? With the new cards releasing and the 7000 series price dropping I was thinking of picking another one up. I want some more performance with the next gen games comming this fall and next year.

It's much more likely that your cpu would bottleneck the 7970's.

Actually, it's 100 percent more likely

that's a dumb word.

Your GPUs aren't bottlenecking your CPU, your CPU is bottlenecking your 7970s.

Your system is way too slow for your GPU setup. In other words, games are going to perform worse than you expect because your CPU can't keep up with your dual GPU setup.

Haha. ok im stupid, I posted this from my phone on my way to work. What I meant to ask was the other way around. I was thinking of buying another 7970 and was wondering if they would be bottlenecked by my CPU. I was pretty sure that some CPU intensive games would bottleneck such as large scale rts', but I rarely play those. I will mainly play single player games. Like Wtcher 2 and Tomb Raider which I can just about max @1080 with steady 50-60 fps. I was hoping that getting another 7970 would let me get steady 60 on those types of games in the future, such as witcher 3 for example. Or would the fx6350 @ 4.4ghz bottleneck it that much.

it's already bottlenecked
