Last month my dog turned towards me really quick and in doing so bent a USB Flash Drive that was sticking out of the computer in the front. It was a 2 slot 3.0 USB front panel now that Flash Drive is unusable so is the right side of the panel but the left side still works now heres the weird part.

If I don't have a USB Flash Drive plugged into the working side I get random BSOD stating a POWER STATE FAILURE and the computer sometimes won't fully go into sleep mode unless theres a USB Flash Drive plugged into that port I figured that one out after the third time I put it into sleep and the monitor went black but the computer stayed running so I plugged the flash drive in and 5 seconds later it went to sleep.

Is this just one of those weird things that I'll just have to live with?

I don't know; I don't care; I didn't read.

Here's a bump, though.

Lol didn't read.

Jk. But anyways, you're telling me you have to have a flash drive plugged in to have a working computer?

Have you tried to reformat?

Considering the problem started happening directly after the dog incident and its tied directly to that USB Panel I doubt a reformat would do anything.

Check your bios and make sure it isn't trying to boot from the flash drive.

I assume that your OS or other vital programs aren't on the drive right?

I have Diablo 3 on the drive since I don't have a SSD.

Well the reason I asked is its a free option that could resolve it. Other than that, if you're positive that the dog hitting the drive ruined the PC, its obviously a hardware issue. Replace the input panel and that should fix it.
