What are the R9 270x and R9 280x comparable to?

I currently have an msi twin frozr 2gb 7850 and it's starting to only run some games on medium settings at 60fps. I don't want a huge upgrade but a R9 280x has a preorder price of 250 which is pretty good.

This deck of cards is a little frayed around the edges, but then again so am I and I've got fewer suits...

nope, the R9 290 which will come down later is comparable to the titan. These are just slightly tweaked 7870's and 7970's. Which makes me wonder if they will crossfire with the current cards at all.

You can buy a $500 console and a $500 computer and have two crap machines, or you can spend $1000 building your own computer and have the best of both worlds.
