Game Recommendation Request

#1allergyseasonPosted 10/9/2013 2:43:49 AM
Hi everyone,

I was hoping that I could get some of your recommendations for a game, but with somewhat strange criteria...

I'm looking for a game that features no killing, sorcery, magic, or demons of any type.

I truly hope you guys can get creative with your suggestions, or even if it's something as simple as solitaire.

Thank you all for your time.

I mean there are plenty of casual and puzzle games. Angry Birds?

You can buy a $500 console and a $500 computer and have two crap machines, or you can spend $1000 building your own computer and have the best of both worlds.

Portal 1 and 2 [unless you count the technology as 'magic']
The Sims
Dirt 2, or any racing game really
Jurassic Park Operation Genesis
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale - just don't go to any dungeons, just keep selling stuff

This, but there's still technically some violence if you consider ramming into a compact car with an 18-wheeler at full speed an act of violence. It's avoidable, though. It's actually a pretty good idea to avoid doing that.

Thomas Was Alone is good as well as Portal 1 and 2 however destroying a robot who killed others is in the story.

May I ask your reasoning behind the criteria?

All of the cars have fantastic safety ratings so it's all fine there.

The only problem I would say is that the pedestrians often disappear, which is a kind of sorcery.

Euro Truck Simulator 2

This would get my vote. You could also say Farming Simulator 2013. I actually liked Farming Simulator 2013 better but after 200 hours of it I got bored. I haven't yet put 200 hours into Euro Truck Sim.

Thomas Was Alone

This passes... not my favorite but it's ok.

You could also use something like "To the Moon" or "Dear Esther". "To the Moon" was good but short, and I haven't finished Dear Esther so I can't comment there.

Also Proteus (though like Dear Esther you might be wondering "is this a game?").

Maybe Anno 2070? I haven't gotten into that game yet, but I know there really wasn't any killing in Anno 1404/Dawn of Discovery.

There's also the Sam and Max series from Telltale....though it might have some "sorcery" or "Demon" type stuff in a few episodes...

The Tropico series would have minimal killing involved. I think it's possible you might have a dissident assassinated but you wouldn't actually see the guy killed on screen.

Then there's all manner of puzzle games (nearly the whole popcap library, not going to bother mentioning individual titles).

Audiosurf?
