I really like Windows 8

Just installed it and it works really well. Very light weight. It is also the best OS I've used at dealing with multiple monitors.

Games also run better on it.

The Metro UI sucks, but Classic Shell fixes that.

And has already learned how to use it enough to realize its an upgrade unlike the majority of bandwagon haters.

Overclocking Graphics Cards also works better on it. It must be because of the updated WDDM. Instead of the whole PC becoming unresponsive and have to crash and reload the display driver when you OC too far on the core, just the program stressing the OC crashes.

I know. The difference between is night and day which is why I like it so much. I'm getting double the performance in Battlefield 4.

And it seems like (haven't done a concrete benchmark though) PCSX2 emulation is running a lot better under Windows 8.

I've cranked the settings up to 6x Native Resolution with 16x MSAA and I'm still getting well above full speed. I was not able to do that before.

I love Windows 8 too... no reason to install 7 when 8 is better in every way.

Now I will say that if you have Windows 7, Its not needed to spend $100+ on Windows 8. Windows 8 is better, but $100 could go to a SSD or something. Now if you are getting a new PC, I think it would be crazy to get Windows 7 over 8 especially since 7 won't have DX11.1 and it won't have all of the CPU usage optimizations that make Windows 8 utilize Multiple Cores so well.

Or you could just install Start8/Classic shell etc. and shut down just as fast. Or you can just press the shutdown. Or move you mouse to the top right corner of the screen and click the shutdown button. Or just press it on your case.

Not to mention Windows 8 loads and shuts down faster
