Windows 8 gave me a nice boost in Valley. I was never able to break the 40FPS barrier in Vista no matter how heavily I tried to overclock.

My 7950 overclocked in Windows Vista performs like my 7950 at stock clocks in Windows 8.

I've also seen huge gains in Battlefield 4(Nearly double the frame rate) but I can't really benchmark that since it's an online game.

PCSX2 has also seemed to perform much much better under Windows 8. I might benchmark this next since it's easy to run and has a nice GUI that is easier to use than full fledged pc games.

If anyone has any requests I might get around to testing other games.

I had a bad experience with IceEnhancer in the past and in general my game comes out looking like crap with it so I'll just push GTA 4 to max settings with a few graphic tweaks

I'm actually pretty close to the limit already lol. When I pushed to 1200MHz on the core, Valley went crazy. I even upped the voltage to 1.3.

Hitman Absolution

Ultra Settings 1920 x 1080 4xAA Windows Vista - 36FPS

Ultra Settings 1920 x 1080 4xAA Windows 8 - 43FPS

The benefits seem to be accross the board for all DX11 games.

Crysis 3 performs better too although I haven't benchmarked it yet.

It's plausible, probably some new hidden API's that make DX11 work better on 8 than on Vista.

I'm going to test some DX9 programs to see if they get a boost or if the improvements are specific to DX11

If 2 fps makes or breaks your rig then it's time to upgrade more than the OS.
