I would say the Uncharted series as a whole. Tons of flash, but the gameplay is underwhelming in all aspects. As far as shooting mechanics, Uncharted is probably closes to Gears of War and it doesn't compare. Some people would argue that the game isn't all about shooting but there's A LOT of shooting in this game. The platforming isn't any better. In fact, a lot of it seems way to convenient and at times it seems you're off a little from your mark you'll notice some frame skipping and you're magically where you need to be. They're still some enjoyable games but I feel if it wasn't for the cinematics, it would score way lower.
I bought a PS3 recently to play some great games, and while I've been enjoying my purchase, this game sticks out as the most overrated game of all time. It takes the cake. Anything you think is overrated is actually accurate compared to the circle jerk that was Uncharted 2. This game stuns you with its average gameplay, precanned animations, lack luster controls and cover system, piss poor a.i., mediocre gun play, constant repetition and rock bottom replay value.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the most overrated game in the history of gaming. It's the EPITOME of GRAPHICS WHORING.
The game still looks great for a console game, even today, but outside of some great graphics and cinematics, almost every modern AA (AAA isn't even in the question) trumps it in every other conceivable fashion.
I thought Half Life 2 was overrated, but it's actually not even close compared to Uncharted 2.
6-7/10 with great presentation. It makes Crysis 1 (another graphics title) look like a bottomless pit of depth and replayability.
