What game genre can you just not enjoy no matter how good the game is?

I cannot get into first person shooters no matter what. The highest rated first person shooters, I might rate them a 7/10. I just cannot find them entertaining at all these days. I used to love them, Wolfenstien 3D, Doom, Dark Forces, Outlaws. Nowadays, they just all seem the same. Just follow the waypoint and kill anything that moves.

So what genre to you dislike?

Simulators. Are they even games?

Strategy (MOBA) the rest I'm fine with.

I know I'm gonna catch hell for this, but... MMOs. Haven't yet found one that can I tolerate for more than a few hours before uninstalling it.

Third Person games in general. The only two I've ever really gotten into were Crackdown and Dragon Age.

RTS don't do it for me. Never have, probably never will. TBS are a different story.

I know I'm gonna catch hell for this, but... MMOs

I don't think anyone is going to be that upset... after all, the people who are most likely to rabidly defend MMO's are probably playing them right now. That was the #1 thing I hated about MMO's...they required such a huge time investment from you that you pretty much gave up on playing anything else.

I've had friends that pretty much disappeared for 6 months at a time, and they'd only resurface after 6 months because it had finally gotten old to them... only they'd go back in after a month or two.

On the other hand, I've never been able to get serious enough about an MMO to put all my free time into it...or maybe I value my free time too much to devote it to one game like that anymore.

Anyway... I'd say MMO's as well, though I've enjoyed a few games that could almost qualify as an MMO...but they were free to play and thus, I had no worries that I was wasting money by not playing it, and I could quit after a week and feel like I only wasted a week (instead of wasting a week of free time and 3 weeks of subscription money).

Most MMO's don't hold my attention for that long.
