My mother's Google account was hacked for the second time. Any theories?

A few months ago, my mom started getting E-Mails/Notifications on her phone that there were unsuccessful attempts to log into her Google account, and that they were from Europe. The account was eventually compromised.

My older brother made her a new Google account, complete with a new password that he made. Technically, he had ownership of the account. Yesterday she kept saying that she was getting E-Mail notifications on her phone that had to do with "suspicious activity". Today, her second account was compromised, and she can't log into it.

+ All the suspicious activity reports described them as coming from France.
+ She doesn't do anything on her PC except play free trials for hidden object games, through the Wild Tangent software. She talks about getting "WildCoins" from there, so I'm assuming she has an account that she registered using her E-Mail for. A lot of these games are shovelware made by European devs.
+ She has her Gmail account linked to her iPhone, but she doesn't really do anything on her phone except call, text, and read E-Mail.
+ She doesn't download any other software, talk to other people on the web, and isn't registered to many websites except Google/Amazon and the like.
+ My brother is gung-ho about protecting hardware from viruses/spyware, so it's not like he'd be doing anything to compromise the Google account. Nor would he log into her account, as there'd only be E-Mails from work and Amazon.

WTF could happen? :/
You're awesome.

Well if it really was someone in France it's not a big deal, they probably just accessed it and then ray away screaming as is standard with the French

It's very possible that she's being compromised through Wild Tangent. Aren't those the kind of games that usually end up on those shady survey sites where they pay you to download and install the software? I don't play those types of games, but the Wikipedia says that Wild Tangent makes some of it's money through online advertising and that it has a shady history with gathering information. It could be the banner ads that are installing some sort of malicious program.

Wild Tangent is trash. Get it off the system asap.

Tell your mom to stop watching porn. If she needs help with that, let me know.
You can buy a $500 console and a $500 computer and have two crap machines, or you can spend $1000 building your own computer and have the best of both worlds.

Does she use the same password on Wild Tangent, and did she use the compromised e-mails to register?
