The golden years for me...

Man, I miss the days when online gaming was fresh. Counter strike and team fortress kept me gong for hours. Battlefield 2 actually got me to buy a gaming desktop! Then there was Star Wars Galaxies....

Anyone else miss those days?

You can buy a $500 console and a $500 computer and have two crap machines, or you can spend $1000 building your own computer and have the best of both worlds.

I agree, Gaming today is not my cup of tea. I used to the thrilled to get up on a Saturday or Sunday and have nothing to do but log on and play some CS or what ever game that was currently popular. i logged massive hours into Everquest and Ultima Online...... still play Ultima Online and stopped playing Everquest about 2 years ago.

I played Galaxies up until the minute the servers were shut down.I stood in line for that game when it was released. FYI if you don't know they have server emulators up so you can still play Galaxies but they aren't fully implemented yet. They have the core game going but it still doesn't have all the features yet. Really wish they would bring back true sandbox MMO's.

Even today i find most of my online gaming boiling down to CS:Source and Team Fortress with bits of Day of Defense and War of the Roses mixed in.Most of my gaming these days is offline.
