Probably going to buy these speakers

I have the Airmotiv 4s. They have a separate amp for each driver. There are also independent power inputs for each speaker. The sound is incredible with the ribbon tweeters. 5 years warranty is standard.

Slightly more expensive Adam F5

It's the hawtest in budget monitors at the moment, http://www.adam-audio.com

I have a pair of Adam A7X, but they're probably a bit out of your range.

QFT. If you can afford the Adams, get them.

I have the A5+ speakers, they are very nice. They have great, all-around sound and produce enough power and bass without needing a sub. I will probably get a sub eventually, but I don't feel like I'm missing one right now. I used to have a set of Boston Acoustic satellite speakers with a sub, and while they put out decent sound, the A5+ sound monstrous at even half volume.
