This is a split board - You can return to the Split List for other boards.

My "N" key doesn't work.

I have to use my on screen key board when every I need to type an "N" for this topic. Ugh!

Alright, so my keyboard started malfunction or something. My "Shift," "G," and "N" keys just stopped working after I had just split soda on it. Well, I hated it so it was time to get a new key board any way!

I went out and got a sweet new one (Razor Deathstalker if anyone is curious, just wanted something glowing green), plugged it in and every thing is fine. Then after 10 min, the "N" key stopped working when it was fine before. Now I'm wondering if the soda actually did destroy my last keyboard or if it's my computer not reading the keyboard fully or something. So I tried plugging this brand new key board in several different USB slots (4 different slots) with all the same results. The damn "N" key still doesn't work!

I tried to google my problem but every suggestion is to clean the keyboard. Well it's new so I don't need to clean it.

I also downloaded Synapse 2 from Razor for the keyboard already, if that matters.

Any one have any good solutions to this problem?

Just return the keyboard and get a new one. If the problem persists then it's your PC.

Might seem weird, but have you checked for a malware? I had this problem with my keyboard where some keys stopped working or were switched, did a malwarebytes check and the problem was solved.

What i would do first is Pull the N key off your keyboard and clean under it. My keyboard for instance likes to collect cat hair. That might help.

It's a new keyboard, about 18 hours out of the box now from last night when I bought it.

Its a new protection method so you can't type the N word.

I suggest returning it right away. If possible, try it on another computer first.

I did what Tyranius suggested. I downloaded Malwarebytes and also Avast and did some full scans. I found 2 things and deleted them.

I made some progress with this. Now I can use the "N" key to log on to my computer because I have an "N" in my password. But once I get started, it stops working again. I've restarted my comp 3 times now and it has worked all 3 times just long enough for me to type in my password but not after that.

Still think I should take it back and try a new one? I have no means to try it in another computer to test it.

That definitely sounds like software (once you're logged) prevents your N key from working. What exactly is an entirely different matter.

And you MUST have a friend somewhere with a computer you can just plug the keyboard in.
