i7 is the only way to go with it's superior hyper threading..next gen games will use hyper threading and the more superior cores of the i7

Won't run? Or won't run on max? That's a rather big difference

Cause I'm pretty sure my rig will "run" next gen games with flying colors

i7 cores are identical to i5 cores.

hell next gen games will only do 1080p @ 30fps for the most part.

edit: on consoles that is.

If more games started using hyperthreading, then it would matter. Watch Dogs isn't the first, but it's still one of the handful out there that would actually benefit from i7s.

I'm all for more possibilities with higher spec requirements, but a game shouldn't need to rely on hyperthreading for FPS increase/stability, at least not until later on. I'd prefer that the games would be optimized before we rush into needing more raw power.

Is BF4 considered a "next gen" game because my i5 had no problem running the beta on ultra settings.. Then again I hear not all graphics settings were working in the beta.. Still I'm sure I will be able to play the game fine once it comes out even if I have to lower the settings a little.

i5 is still one of the best processors on the market. I think it will hold up okay for awhile to come.
