...Okay...is the SteelSeries Apex a mechanical keyboard?

Everywhere I look, it doesn't specify if it's mechanical or not.

It says it's a rubber dome keyboard on the stats sheet.

Derp. Thanks.

So uh..is it worth paying 100 bucks for this if its not mechanical? Like, is the difference between mechanical and non-mechanical that big?

I honestly wouldn't.

Why pay 100 bucks for a rubber dome when you can get a variety of mechanical keyboards at that price range?

Yes, it's a big difference. I hate typing on rubber domes now.

Yes it is. The difference in typing experience is significant. And since you can buy a CM quickfire rapid for half the price, I do not get how anyone could spend 100 bucks on a keyboard like that.

I mean, even in general. 100 bucks for a rubber dome is pretty out there. Outside of mostly gimmick features and some necessary ones (key rollover etc.) it offers nothing over any other rubber dome. If you want to go rubber dome, go with something like the Sidewinder X4. It is cheaper, probably better, a smaller footprint and is without all the useless fluff. It used to be 30 bucks. But it may no longer be in productions though. Microsoft has ended their Sidewinder line of products.
