titan is $1000
290x is $650

2x titans $2000
2x 290x $1300

you tell me

If you want the best, you got to pay the price.

Being cheap, gets you second place

That price equates to $350 dollars for 2 fps in Crysis 3, buying something of worse value to feel superior because it has a prestige brand, gets you second place.

It gets you 9 months head start of not having a piss poor card also.

9 months after the 290X releases, it'll lose 200 in value due to price drop when Nvidia releases its 800 series.

How is that value now?

;)

That value is entirely unchanged all cards experience price drops throughout the lifespan of the product.

You have said nothing to dispute my point all you have added is your own bias, you assert the card is "piss poor" purely from your own ideological point of view but the benchmarks speak for themselves. You are making yourself look like a silly fanboy.

Hmm, it's been a while since I've seen a snuckie/xhibit fight.

The card performs less than a 2 year old gpu(GK110 is 2 years old btw) it runs hotter, it uses more power.

What value is that? the R9 is already outdated in 6 months

That's like saying, there is no value buying a new car when you can get this pos used one for thousands less

The Titan came out 7 months ago, 7 =/= 24.

Only 3 fps better in Tomb Raider, an AMD Gaming Evolved game, 6 fps better in BioShock Infinite (also an AMD Gaming Evolved game, but it's not as demanding as Tomb Raider and doesn't have TressFX, so that's weird; I guess it uses more VRAM than Tomb Raider?), and no Nvidia TWIMtbP/PhysX games. And apparently you can fry eggs with it.

I doubt I'll be swapping my 780 for one now.

"AMD was very specific that the only numbers it’s approving come from BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider. We’re only able to show you R9 290X compared to GeForce GTX 780, and only at 3840x2160."

Also: "There’s not much more I can say at this point, except that I have several cards tested at 3840x2160, and R9 290X doesn’t just do well against the GeForce GTX 780."

That is straight from the article.

It's a GK110, so GK110 = 24

GPU =/= Graphic card
