randomly when he's typing, ctrl+F will happen. I had him use superanti spyware and malwarebytes and found nothing that could cause this issue. He also uses kapersky (I told him he wouldn't need it)

but anyway, I'm thinking maybe there's something physically wrong with the keyboard. I told him to try another keyboard if he has one but he's not gotten back to me.

any ideas guys?

It's more than likely the keyboard.

Maybe he spilled something in it.

edit that, he's still having the issue. I told him to find another keyboard and test it. He also said when he right clicks on the help option in firefox it brings us the search box as well. I don't use firefox so is that normal?

Probably something his punk nephew did to mess it up.

also thanks for being a jerk. comes to find out he had changed some settings on this keyboard which caused the issue. He reset his kb to factory settings and this has seemed to resolved the issue thus far.
