Batman: AA/AC Steam Patch Live GFWL/Securom removal

ATTN: If anyone is having the connection error message from the GFWL client, download the newest version of the client from xbox.com. Make sure you uninstall your current client and the redistributable before reinstalling.

Wow, thanks Ryamus, it's working fine now.

Unfortunately I went to look for the gamekey and found this:

Game Activation Key:
No key assigned

Just great. I'm going to email WB and MS and see if they can help. Not looking too good for now.

Yeah I was on the line with xbox support for an hour and twenty minutes and we finally got it working. I ran into the same problem, unfortunately. Bioshock 2 and Viva Pinata had their game activation keys, but not Arkham Asylum. The guy at xbox said to contact steam and see if it was possible to get a key using the LIVE access code, but we all know how quick steam support is...

So...is the "suddenly having the GOTY version of AC" thing legit, or is it a "free weekend" promotion?

I emailed WB games explaining my situation. Looks like I shouldn't bother with Microsoft/Xbox...

It would really suck if owners of vanilla Batman:AA on steam get a free upgrade to GOTY, and vanilla AA owners on GFWL get hosed completely.

EDIT: Hold on. After watching a big thread on neogaf user grief.exe suggested the following for Batman:AA

Install, get key from windows registry, or when you launch the game.

Gonna try that. Have to install game all over. Brb...

You can remove GFWL, WB.
You can even remove Securom.

But you'll never make FEAR 3 a good game :(

This is HUGE. I honestly thought this day would never come, I am freaking ecstatic. Except it's a shame that I'll lose my 100% saves and achievements in both games, I even got Campaign Kitty. That was freaking hard, let me tell you. But dammit, it's worth it all. Winning the war on DRM is worth way more than winning two awesome games.

I now have both GOTY AC and AA. I only had the base games for both.

I have both apparantly.

In my library I have Batman: Arkham City installed
and directly underneath it is an uninstalled Batman: Arkham City GOTY

...wut

And I can't remember if my AA was GOTY or not, but it is now either way and only one listing.

I'm so happy GFWL is dying/dead. All it has ever done is give me problems with multiple games. Plus, it'll give me an excuse to play through Arkham city again.
