what will happen to Bullestorm and Red Faction Guerrilla after GFWL is gone?

#1sonicteam2k1Posted 10/17/2013 12:02:24 PM
I emailed Origin support and the answer wasn't 100% I don't think but the rep said if a game doesn't work then they'll patch it. I'm not sure if he knew what was going on.

Then I contacted Nordic and still waiting on a solid response.

Also what will happen to Street Fighter X Tekken?

I've have been trying to find answers but I get nowhere. Anyone else know of anything about these?

I'm assuming no one know right?

Well I guess my next question is would it be appropriate to download cracks for them since you know, you won't be able to play them?

It's still illegal to crack the games. In this situation though, I see no moral issues.

that actually is an interesting question since GFWL games seems to be moving to steamworks.
What happened to people who bought Batman retail?

also, i think Capcom will move their games to steamworks. they have way too many games using GFWL and people would be pissed at them if their games wouldnt work.

Most GFWL games don't require GFWL so...nothing

http://steamcommunity.com/games/200260/announcements/detail/1909817119598626547 says what you should do here.

for those who dont like clicking links

Dear Batman Arkham Fans - Microsoft has begun the process of closing down Windows Live services over the next year. To make sure there is no interrupted service, we will be moving the game to Steam for verification and update services for both the Base and GOTY versions of Batman Arkham Asylum and Batman Arkham City.

If you purchased either of the games on Steam all you have to do is let Steam download the latest patch and you will be fine.

If you purchased the games somewhere else you will need to enter the code in Steam. (You can find steps to do this on the bottom of this.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to continue playing from your current save. You will need to start a new game.

Going forward you do not have to worry about where you stored that disc. If you switch computers or go to a friendís house you simply need to download Steam, log into your account, then go to the library and select to install your game.

The following link can be used to learn more about Steam and to download Steam:

http://store.steampowered.com/about/

To enter your CD Key in Steam please do the following:

1. Click ADD A GAME....

2. Select Activate a Product on Steam..

3. Click Next.

4. Click I Agree.

5. Enter your CD Key and select next once the game finishes downloading you will be able to play the game.

Oh ok, so it's just using your retail CD key.

Now to wonder if Bulletstorm will use Origin or not, since it's published by EA.

I got an email from Nordic and they stated they're looking for the best possible solution and after they test it they will let the public know.

Also from EA the Origin rep stated if the game stops working due to GFWL being gone then they'll patch it. But he didn't know how distribution would work with Steam version since he's only dealt with Origin. I assume Valve and EA has some sort of contract since they're still selling EA's games on there. I would hope they would hand the patch to Valve so they can still sell the game
