Awhile back I decided to hook up a PS3 to one of my monitors. I failed to realize that they don't have built in speakers.. but I wanted my PS3 in the area of my PC setup because I figured I would never touch it (and I never did) unless it was close by, I actually sold it and made that paperweight kick rocks). In the future, how can I use audio for a console to speakerless monitor? --- 3570k (212 Evo) | Z77 Extreme 4 | Sapphire 7850 2GB OC | 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz | XFX PRO650w CE | 1TB Black WD | Fractal Design Define R4 | 3840x1080 | Logitech Z623
Buy speakers? What the hell kind of question is this? "If I want to eat my food on a plate but I don't have a plate how do I get a plate" --- "HE are genius, firstly." - ASlaveObeys http://i.imgur.com/SQAc17B.png
PS3 can output sound separately from HDMI - for a while I had mine running to my monitor via HDMI, but output sound to component, which I then ran to my speakers. --- "How do I get rid of a Trojan Horse?" -Sailor_Kakashi "Leave it outside the gates of Troy overnight." -Davel23
I knew these responses would flood in lol. Probably a dumb question oh well. I just figured, power cord, DVI to HDMI... wasn't sure how the sound would output. They weren't going through the HDMI. My sound system is in signature.
Like I said - PS3 is capable of outputting sound over a different channel from video. It can do video by HDMI and sound over component, letting you use any speakers you want. --- "How do I get rid of a Trojan Horse?" -Sailor_Kakashi "Leave it outside the gates of Troy overnight." -Davel23
