Windows 8.1 Start Button

In the preview the start button had a little metro bar go across the screen with some apps.

NOW the start button just goes to metro

how can I have it so it just shows a line of apps and not takes me to the metro interface completely

Classic Shell saved Windows 8 for me. I suggest you get it and stop waiting for Microsoft to make its OS usable on non-touch screen platforms.

Are you talking about the "Apps" view???

Right click taskbar, properties, Navigation tab, check "Show the apps view automatically when I go to Start".

Also, by default, the Start Button in the 8.1 Preview brought you to the Start Screen.

Yep, if you're using a mouse Classic Shell is a must. Imo it's also a must for any power user.

Dat exaggeration.

I think "exaggeration" is an understatement here.

I admit, I could have gotten used to the new interface if I wanted to, but I was so used to previous versions of Windows that I just instantly went to Classic Shell.

Unlike a lot of people on GameFAQs, I don't constantly complain about change, but I'll still stick with the old stuff if the new stuff doesn't really interest me or it's not needed.
