Question about steam family sharing

#1greenhawk322Posted 10/19/2013 11:33:09 AM
If a friend and i are wanting to play two different games out of my library at the same time, could we? The way its worded on the steam family sharing site makes it hard to tell if you can or cannot play at the same time.

I know you obviously can't play the same game at the same time, but what about two different games?

From steam,

Can two users share a library and both play at the same time?

No, a shared library may only be accessed by one user at a time.

I guess there's another method that could work

What if the library owner is playing offline, and the guest is playing online?

What if the library owner is playing online, and the guest is playing offline?

I've heard the second situation can work, but I've never tried it myself.

One can play offline while one is online. My brother and I have done that before.
