If a friend and i are wanting to play two different games out of my library at the same time, could we? The way its worded on the steam family sharing site makes it hard to tell if you can or cannot play at the same time.
I know you obviously can't play the same game at the same time, but what about two different games? --- I am currently narrating all of the thousand years of dreams from lost odyssey. check out my youtube channel and watch http://www.youtube.com/user/sapnyosentry

Can two users share a library and both play at the same time?
No, a shared library may only be accessed by one user at a time. --- firstname.lastname@example.org | H100 | P8Z77-V Pro | HAF 932 | TX650M | GTX 670 SLI | 16gb 1866 | 128gb Crucial M4 | 1tb WD black | 3tb WD green

I guess there's another method that could work
What if the library owner is playing offline, and the guest is playing online?

I've heard the second situation can work, but I've never tried it myself. --- Crimson night & Celsion moon, misfiction, not save the Player is Prayer, yes, Dance Romanesque and unfinished Romancia.

One can play offline while one is online. My brother and I have done that before.
