Spilled Soda on my computer tower and the tech support forum is too slow.

I drank from a bottle of cream soda and must of accidentally shaken up the bottle.
It foamed over, and there's sort of a crease in the plastic where fluid could get into the tower. The soda is down to the bottom of it's bottleneck. The rest get on my tower. Only some (I'd say a quarter) of that fluid got in the tower, the rest I got with paper towels. My computer seemed to be running fine a few minutes after it happened. I turned the system off after I cleaned the outside the best I could.

1. How bad could this get for me?
2. What problems should I look out for?
3. When am I in the clear and I can see there are no obvious problems.
4. When / Sould I turn my computer back on?

1. depends on if it got on any sensitive parts and how the case is designed
2. pop on sensitive parts and ants, power/reset buttons.
3. give it time to dry and look over the parts making sure there isn't any sticky syrup on it
4. see 3.

as long as you shut it down right away, clean it and make sure its dry/clean it should be ok depending on how bad of a spill

If you do have something sticky on a sensitive piece make sure not to try and clean it with water, use some kind of alcohol. The best bet would be everclear, that's what I've always used to clean electronics (95% alcohol), but 90% rubbing alcohol will be fine as well. I can't comment on 70%.

yea alcohol evaporates pretty quick, you could use water as long as it wasn't plugged in, there was no current, and it was completely dry but a small amount of alcohol would be best.
